    Public Campaign - Social media

Description: A social media campaign, continuing on from last years campaign via TheRecyclableAdvert.com where all the collection schemes in SWE, NO and DK are able to offer for free a series of short adverts informing consumers that old electronics become new products.

For 2020 we are re-editing the video footage from last years campaign, adding new music and a new voice over, to tell a different story with the same tag line that old electronics can become new products... so we are upcycling a recyclable advert for the recycling industry.

The social media campaign is created for collection schemes, producers, municipalities, schools, recyclers, in fact all organisations who wish to promote a more sustainable planet. Each organisation can chose their own strap line from a list and attach their logo to the end of the adverts, making them the sender of the message to their followers. Free sustainability content to promote the recycling of electronics and batteries in the Nordics.

Description: Recipo in Sweden, Norway and Denmark are jointly financing The Recyclable Advert with Elkretsen, BIF, Renas, Norsirk, ERP-Norway and ERP-Denmark for an information campaign during the week of IEWD.

This years' campaign introduces the concept of being 'circular' through re-use and recycling. Being a circular campaign, The Recyclable Advert will be re-using footage from previous campaigns, with a new Voice Over.

As usual, the campaign is free for all organisations to use and share on their SoMe platforms in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Description: We want to promote our ewastechallenge.com learning materials among schools and encourage running an e-waste community action (as our learning materials provide all the guidance for it).

The lesson plan is aimed at 12-14-year-old students, but can easily be adjusted for a younger or older age group.

After completing the activity, the students will be able to:

    • Explain in simple terms the issue of electronic waste.

    • Identify basic electronic waste sources, and discover the electronic waste management opportunities closest to their home.

    • Co-design with their peers a simple community engagement initiative to connect with their surrounding community and help raise awareness of the negative impact of the use of electronic devices.
