    Description: E-WASTE DAY ACTIVATION- APPLIANCES RECYCLING S.A.

    To support the E-Waste Day, we will unfold a strong plan that includes digital, radio campaign, as well as consumer activation.

    Presence with banners in 10 top sites

    Radio campaign in Attica (35% of the total population of Greece), in top radio stations, radio spots, fillers and mentions (4 per day for 5 days)

    Consumer Activation

    An event will take place on 14/10-16/10 in Peristeri , which is the 7th largest Municipality of Greece by population.

    The activation has three pillars: Awareness/Education, Wee Collection and Repair.

    During the event, the set up will include three “stations”.

    One for the collection of e-waste, one for the educational video game and one for minor repairs of electronical and electrical appliances.

    A promotion team will inform (distribute educational flyers), guide the visitors to experience an entertaining, interactive video game and offer gifts.

    The visitors will have the opportunity to repair small appliances (Reuse).

    Description: We are planning to participate in the International E-waste day by distributing a press release to public and business digital and print media, referring to the extent of the global e-waste problem, the WEEE Forum's role and initiative for the specific day and the results of Appliances Recycling SA throughout the years.
    We are also going to promote two special posts on Facebook and Instagram (one pre- and one post-International E-Waste Day) plus one post on LinkedIn on the specific day, using the visual and the hashtag #ewasteday .

    Apart from the above-mentioned activities, during October our annual integrated communication programme will be on air, including our national brand building TV campaign "a small move of great importance", our online activities along with an activation about the recycling benefit of dangerous substances' reduction and a radio campaign in Athens & Salonica about lamp recycling.

    Description: Fotokiklosi’s E-Waste event will take place in two schools, located in Athens. The objective is that 150 children of primary school and 50 children of elementary school will participate and enjoy learning the valuable lesson of proper WEEE management.

    Executive staff of the System will introduce Fotokiklosi to the students, its objective, its goals, locations of the collection points, proper disposal of all WEEE and the importance of every single one’s action to saving the environment.

    Additionally, a theatrical interactive play will take place. 4 professional actors will entertain the students and in the meantime educate them. The play is based on the book ‘The Guardians of Nature: Fotis, Fotoula and Fotokiklosi’, sponsored and distributed by Fotokiklosi. Both the book and play are written by an environmental Professor, long-time and esteemed partner to Fotokiklosi.

    Fotokiklosi’s E-Waste 2-day event will be hosted in two islands of Cyclades, Kimolos and Milos. The theatrical interactive play, based on the book ‘The Guardians of Nature: Fotis, Fotoula and Fotokiklosi’ will take place on the 13th of October in Kimolos’ primary school and on the 14th of October in Milos’ primary school. All students and parents are invited, taking all the necessary precautions against Covid-19. The play will be broadcasted through live streaming, on Facebook, sending to all the message of proper disposal of all WEEE. The book, sponsored by Fotokiklosi, will be given to all students who participate. Both the book and play are written by an environmental Professor, long-time and esteemed partner to Fotokiklosi.

    A treasure hunt event that children can participate will take place in downtown Athens.

    A treasure hunt game looking and finding the invisible e-waste, the event will encourage children to be active and to explore. A fun and satisfying experience for children to learn about recycling.

    Setting up a treasure hunt by hiding clues and treasure. Clues will be given on where we can find invisible e-waste in our home, in our everyday life.

    Members Photo Competition

    Description: EERA are holding a competition for Members to collect and share photographs from Members with the topic “Unusual Small E-WASTE discoveries

    Between now and the 6th September we have asked Members to take a look around their facilities, or local municipal collection sites or locality etc. to find good examples of old / unusual small WEEE.

    The entries will be considered by the Board and the winners announced at our Members Meeting on 4th Oct. and the winning photos shared on our Social Media on the 14th Oct to celebrate the Int. E-WASTE event.

    Our Members operate over 800 E-WASTE re-use and treatment facilities in twenty-two countries across the continent of Europe.
