    Description: Latin American Forum on Circular Economy and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment On October 14, 2023, under the joint organization of Estrategia Circular MX, Recicla Electrónicos México, S.A. and the Environmentally Appropriate Management of Waste with Persistent Organic Pollutants (ResiduosCOP) Project of the United Nations Development Program, the first edition of the Latin American Forum on Circular Economy and electrical and electronic equipment waste was held, in the virtual modality. Its purpose was to make visible that people, companies, research centers, non-governmental organizations and governments can develop and implement strategies and business models based on the circular economy to influence the responsible production and consumption of electrical and electronic devices -AEE's- and, consequently, in extending its useful life and reducing WEEE's, which positively impacts the fulfilment of the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda, mainly, 12 "Production and Consumption Responsible” and 13 “Climate Action”, as well as other SDGs that are interconnected. The  Latin American Forum on Circular Economy and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment will be held within the framework of World Electronic Waste Day #ewasteday, an initiative organized by the WEEE Forum, founded in April 2002 and currently considered as the world's largest multinational competence centre for WEEE management related operational know-how, as well as having developed high quality pan-European standards for collection, handling, storage, transport, preparation for reuse , processing and disposal of WEEE's and harmonized guidelines for verification of conformity.

    Campaign "Un celular un árbol" ends on December 31. Activities related to the e-waste day will last the entire month of October

    Description: In collaboration with Telefónica México, Movistar México and Reforestamos México A.C. we are realizing a national campaing named "Un Celular un árbol",  where for every collected and recycled smartphone, a tree will be planted on one of the famous flora and fauna protections areas of México, "El Nevado de Toluca". The goal is to plant 5250 trees  that will be cared by forestal community brigades for a span of 3 years.

    The campaign seeks the companies and citizens to be aware of the necessity to be more sustainable, to make an appropriate management of e-waste, and fulfill the goal to reforest the equivalent of 15 soccer fields.

    Besides that, we are launching a social media campaign to let people know about the International Ewaste day and how easy is to recycle their old electronics with our free collection program.

    Description: The Environment and Natural Resources Ministry of Mexico and the United Nations Development Program, in collaboration with the government of the state of Queretaro and government of the municipality of Queretaro, start a temporary collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment  event on the occasion of the International E-Waste Day. For four days temporary collection centers will be enabled in the city of Queretaro, with the purpose of bringing citizens an alternative to properly dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment generated in their houses. Later, collected e-waste will be delivered to an authorized company that ensures its environmentally sound management.
