Description: We ask the population to hand in used laptops, tablets and smartphones to the DRZ so that they can be passed on. The DRZ is a recycling, reuse and upcycling company for electrical equipment waste in Vienna. We want to promote the International E-Waste Day and the collection campaign in the best possible way in our newsletter, via LinkedIn and with a press release on October 14, 2020. Unfortunately, the planned activities with the DRZ on site cannot take place due to the current Covid-situation. Students, media representatives and interested people would have been invited to a guided tour and subsequent workshop.

    News release, Recycling plant tour

Description: In Kematen/Ybbs, in the province of Lower Austria, we recycle cooling equipment in what are up-to-the-minute facilities and where approximately 300,000 units are treated per year in three-shift operations. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, we will be organising a plant tour for students and media representatives to demonstrate how discarded cooling appliances are treated correctly and that close to 95% of the materials is recycled as secondary raw materials. Materials such as aluminium, iron, copper, and plastics are extracted with great care and can be put to use in new products. With this event we aim to raise awareness of the importance of e-waste recycling and highlight the International E-Waste Day.
