Circular Route – Bringing Electronic Recycling Closer to All of Chile 🔄🌎
The Circular Route is an initiative developed by Entel, in partnership with Midas Chile, to bring electronic recycling closer to both urban and rural communities across the country.
Through a traveling truck, the initiative moves throughout Chile, setting up in high-traffic public areas so that people can safely and sustainably drop off their old or unused cell phones. Afterwards, the collected devices are sent to specialized recycling processes at Midas Chile, where valuable materials are recovered and the environmental impact of electronic waste is reduced.
During its first six months, the Circular Route has visited more than 40 towns from Arica to the Los Lagos Region, collecting nearly 4,000 unused cell phones. Including the fixed recycling points available at Entel stores and partner municipalities, the initiative has prevented 6.9 tons of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to the annual absorption of 350 mature trees — showing that small actions can generate significant environmental impacts.
More than half of the communities visited are in rural areas of Chile, where access to recycling options is limited, making the deployment of this traveling truck even more valuable.
This initiative demonstrates that geographical distance is not an obstacle to caring for the planet. By bringing concrete circular economy solutions to every corner of Chile, the Circular Route shows how collaboration can make sustainability accessible to all.
On this International E-Waste Day, the Circular Route will visit the following towns: Osorno and Río Negro, and will later continue to locations in the Los Ríos and La Araucanía regions — completing a journey that has connected much of Chile from north to south.
The Circular Route is part of Entel’s Circular Economy Plan, which has an ambitious goal: by 2030, to collect and recover at least 20% of the cell phones Entel sells each year. This means not only reducing waste generation but also recovering valuable materials and minerals, directly helping to lower the environmental footprint of the tech industry.

At Midas Chile, we believe that distance should never be a barrier to recycling. 🌎♻️
That’s why we bring recycling to every region of the country — even to the most remote communities — promoting urban mining and the circular economy throughout Chile.
This year, we celebrate the International E-Waste Recycling Day by taking part in multiple municipal campaigns, both in urban and rural areas, where everyone is invited to participate:
♻️✅ Valdivia: From the south, we drive a cleaner and more circular future 🌿
In partnership with the Illustrious Municipality of Valdivia, we will hold a collection and responsible recycling event for electronic waste.
This initiative aims to make recycling more accessible by offering a drop-off point where people can bring in unused cell phones, computers, appliances, cables, and other electronic waste.
🗓️ Date: October 17–18
♻️✅ Curacautín: 🚛 Distance doesn’t stop us when it comes to caring for the planet 🌎
We’ll travel to the commune of Curacautín, in the La Araucanía Region, to bring e-waste recycling to rural communities and show that even in Chile’s most remote areas, proper e-waste management is possible.
In partnership with the local municipality, residents will be able to drop off their unused equipment, promoting responsible recycling and the circular economy.
🗓️ Date: Saturday, October 25
♻️✅ Peñalolén: A habit with a big impact on the planet 💡
Together with the Municipality of Peñalolén, we will once again take part in a community e-waste recycling event to continue strengthening the recycling culture that defines the commune.
This activity encourages people to play an active role in the circular economy by ensuring the proper disposal of electronic waste.
🗓️ Date: October 18
💚 At Midas Chile, we continue to demonstrate that commitment to the environment is built by bringing recycling closer to people — no matter the distance.

🌍♻️ MidasChile present at the REP Forum 2025 to celebrate and promote EWaste Day.
Once again, we will participate in the REP Forum — a key space for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration around the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law and the sustainable management of electronic waste in Chile.
As leaders in the recycling and recovery of electronic waste (WEEE), at MidasChile we will share our experience in circular economy, traceability, and technological solutions that drive a cleaner and more efficient industry.
💬 We invite you to join this conversation that shapes the future of recycling in Chile and Latin America.
