This International E-Waste Day we will be raising awareness of e-waste recycling and educating the public about TechCollect - our national e-waste recycling program.
Activities undertaken to promote this important event will take place in Australia and New Zealand and will include:
- the creation of a dedicated web page (hosted on the TechCollect sites) promoting the event, educating the importance of recycling, and directing people where to take their unwanted e-waste;
- media relations targeting national, state and local news channels promoting the importance of the day;
- a comprehensive social media campaign educating people on the importance of recycling and directing them to their nearest drop off locations;
- working with our program members who represent the leading global ICT organisations to further strengthen of messaging;
- working with organizations and community groups who wish to participate on the day.

International e-waste day will be marked this year through a number of communications activities working alongside collection partners, community and business.
Utilizing social media, the web and dedicated communications, TechCollect NZ will be reaching out to media outlets, community groups, schools, collections partners and recyclers to highlight the importance of the day and to draw attention to the great work being undertaken in Aotearoa
