    Description:

We think that spreading the word on IEWD internationally and with a common theme is a great way to increase recognition of the day, and of course (most importantly) to increase people's interest and involvement in creating closed loops for electronics. We are going to interview people here in Stockholm, Sweden and show them a few pictures of products and see if they know which ones are e-waste. We are going to send the footage to WEEEForum for them to edit. After we receive their finished product we will embed the video on our regular website; on our knowledge hub https://kunskapsrummet.com/en/; on our Facebook-page; and on our Youtube-channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs2qj7YY2Rg27zZhwT9_pkQ. We are also going to do a series of IEWD-themed posts in our TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@el_kretsen_informerar where we take footage from our interviews.

Description: A social media campaign, continuing on from last years campaign via TheRecyclableAdvert.com where all the collection schemes in SWE, NO and DK are able to offer for free a series of short adverts informing consumers that old electronics become new products.

For 2020 we are re-editing the video footage from last years campaign, adding new music and a new voice over, to tell a different story with the same tag line that old electronics can become new products... so we are upcycling a recyclable advert for the recycling industry.

The social media campaign is created for collection schemes, producers, municipalities, schools, recyclers, in fact all organisations who wish to promote a more sustainable planet. Each organisation can chose their own strap line from a list and attach their logo to the end of the adverts, making them the sender of the message to their followers. Free sustainability content to promote the recycling of electronics and batteries in the Nordics.

Description: Avoki will highlight International E-waste Day by conducting a self-initiated survey together with HP, in which we interviewed the Swedish public about their attitudes towards using second-hand electronic devices at work. Among the findings, we discovered that 72% of Swedes have a positive view of used technology in the workplace. Based on this survey, we will publish a press release that we hope will reach news outlets (newspapers and TV).

In connection with this, we will also release a podcast episode, with participants such as HP and Inrego where we discuss a trend that is changing how we buy, use, and recycle technology—a trend we call "Assets go services."

Description: Reuse before recycling. Today's unsustainable IT consumption generates an overwhelming amount of e-waste – surpassing the weight of the Great Wall of China every year. Yet, if we embrace reuse, much of this 'waste' can find a new purpose. We firmly believe that a significant portion of what we discard still has so much more to offer. On International E-Waste Day, we want to highlight the potential of reusing and to encourage this step towards sustainability, we're offering companies a 15% extra product compensation for everything sent to us on this special day when registrating your used products here.
