Public Campaign - Social media, Public collection, Business collection

Description: Our proposed IEWD Activities will involve a social media campaign and a call to collect E-waste. The social media campaign will involve the sharing of educational videos created by the BCRC–Caribbean under the “Demonstration of the Environmentally Sound Management of Used Mobile Phones and Computing Equipment in Trinidad and Tobago” Project which highlights the current problem of e-waste as well as proper disposal in the local context. Additionally, we will develop social media posts to encourage corporate entities and the public to recycle their old cell phones and peripherals. The collection of old cell phones, chargers and headsets will occur at the BCRC – Caribbean office and be disposed of, free of charge. We aim to partner with corporate entities involved in the electronics sector to request their support in sponsoring the disposal efforts as the environmentally sound management of E-waste in Trinidad and Tobago is a paid service.
