    Description: Ministry of ICT is the lead in spearheading e waste programs. The Ministry developed the NATIONAL ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT POLICY (2012) ; NATIONAL ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT STRATEGY (2013)  ; NATIONAL ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT POLICY (2016).

    The Ministry also chairs the National Steering Commitee on E Waste; which comprises of major stakeholders, including Ministry of Finance and E conomic Affairs, National Environment Management Authority, Ministry Of Local Government. Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Water and Environment, Uganda Bureau of Statistics, National Bureau of Standards, Ministry of Local Government, Makerre University, Uganda revenue Authority and others.

    Together with YSA, the Ministry is organising the International E waste day on 14th october 2021 and the activities have been submitted by YSA.

    The Ministry may require additional support in Provision of Labaled T shirts and banners to include logo for WEE forum. The Ministry would also like support on Media especially TV coverage and Print Media worh about 7000 USD.

    Description: To mark the International e-waste day YSA with other partners Organisation for Self Liberation from Poverty, Ministry of Information Communication Technology and National Guidance and other stakeholders will conduct the following activities to create awareness among the People about importance of recycling electronic waste however small it is.

    1. Conducting a walk around specific areas in Kampala city as they collect all electronic waste which have been disposed off wrongly put them in vehicle and take waste to the collection center located at 6th in street Kampala district where they can be sorted recycled for re use. With a main purpose of creating awareness on proper management of e-waste

    2. YSA with partner will conduct awareness training to the identified employees of the major electric and electronic outlets on the importance of selectively disposing e- waste from other municipal waste and recycling them.

    Description: E-WASTE Management awareness campaign : Here we hope to organize a workshop where  we will sensitize the the selected leaders in all categories will be sensitized on the dangers of poor e-waste management. We will organize awareness raising activities around e-waste, re-use, collection and recycling. The activities can take place either online (e.g. press releases in online reviews, articles on organization own website, social media campaigns and competitions) or physically (e.g. events, workshops).
