The WEEE Forum and 29 other civil society and industry groups join forces in a joint statement regarding the Digital Services Act (DSA) as a vehicle to counter online free-riding.

We request policymakers to ensure the DSA holds accountable online platforms that facilitate the initiation of transactions between traders and end-users via a strong liability regime and firm obligations.

The evidence of wrongdoings and free-riding on these platforms is overwhelming. The DSA is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to ensure issue-specific EU laws cannot be bypassed.
