Under the motto “30 years of circular economy”, the UFH Group celebrates its 30 years of existence. As a leading collection and recovery system in Austria, UFH combines state-of-the-art recycling with sustainable service in the disposal of waste of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries. In this way, UFH is setting standards in climate and environmental protection since three decades.
Since its establishment in 1993, UFH has had a clear goal: to create a sustainable future. The principle of the “Circular Economy” makes an active contribution to this through an almost closed cycle of production, treatment and recycling of raw materials.
As a pioneer of the circular economy, UFH has been operating its own refrigerator recycling plant in Kematen an der Ybbs for 15 years. At UFH RE-cycling, refrigerators are professionally disposed of and recycled according to the highest environmental standards. “More than 85 percent of a refrigerator can be recycled and brought back into the production cycle through innovative technology,” emphasises Robert Töscher, UFH Managing Director. UFH has already recycled more than 3.8 million refrigerators this way. The company, though, goes even one step further. On the digital marketplace SECONTRADE, some of the recovered secondary raw materials can be traded easily and quickly. This way, UFH ensures sustainable raw material management through the principle of circular economy – regionally, across Austria and in Europe.
The recycling of high-quality raw materials makes an active contribution to low-carbon production. As a strategic partner of the industry, UFH is optimally equipped for the challenges of the sector. Not only, but especially because of the people behind UFH, who contribute sustainably to the company’s success.
With this anniversary video, UFH puts the people behind the success story at the centre of attention. The video not only emphasises joint success, but also looks to a promising future. Through joint cooperation and commitment, UFH will continue to contributing to the circular economy.
