The WEEE Forum a.i.s.b.l.  is an international association speaking for fifty not-for-profit electronic waste producer responsibility organisations across the globe and we were founded in April 2002. Together with our members on the five continents, we are at the forefront of tackling the worldwide societal challenge of electronic waste. We aspire to be among the world’s foremost e-waste competence centres, excelling in the implementation of the circularity principle.

As part of our research portfolio, the WEEE Forum contributes to projects with external partners that deepen our knowledge and widen our network; many of these are significant EU funded research projects lasting several years. Recently we have been successful in adding six projects to our portfolio, meaning we are now part of seven EU funded projects, two of which we lead.

Due to this expansion, we are seeking a part time Projects Assistant to provide administrative support to the Project Manager for delivering these projects. The Project Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of in-person and online meeting organisation, note taking, financial paperwork and time reporting for the whole WEEE Forum team. The successful candidate will have the ability to organise large consortia, have the willingness to support a busy team, be a well-organised self-starter and possess the desire to take ownership of tasks given to them. The position is remote/homeworking and is suitable to be undertaken anywhere in Europe. Travel within Europe to meetings of project consortia is a requirement.

The WEEE Forum is headquartered in Brussels. The team is currently composed of ten professionals based in Belgium, Spain, Germany, Greece and the United Kingdom.

The candidate must meet the criteria as spelled out in the Job Description.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft suite of software tools, especially Excel
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, other languages a major plus
  • Knowledge of project management procedures and tools
  • Pride in providing administrative support to managers of projects under quality, budget and time constraints

The post is half-time.
