Description: International E-Waste Day 2020 will be celebrated and promoted in Australia and New Zealand through the following initiatives:

  • The creation of on-line content, explaining to consumers what is e-waste, and how to dispose of it

  • Awareness campaign targeting media, local government authorities, schools and businesses.

  • Encouraging and promoting school collection days

  • Photo competition via our social media sites

  • Information campaign highlighting the environmental benefits of recycling e-waste (including the release of LifeCycle assessment info graphics)

  • Call to action to participate in local collection drives


Above initiatives will commence the week leading up to International E-Waste Day, and conclude at the end of October.

Description: Shred-X will be hosting a "Bring your e-Waste to Work" event for staff on Wednesday 14 October to Friday 16 October. Shred-X will securely remove all confidential information held on data-holding devices before they are destroyed, and components are separated and recycled. Items which do not hold data (such as a mouse, keyboard or cabling) will be repurposed or reused wherever possible.

We will also share WEEE Forum's information and posts on social media on the importance of responsible consumerism and recycling of e-waste with landfill diversion as the ultimate goal.
