To support the E-Waste Day, we will unfold a strong plan that includes digital, radio campaign, as well as consumer activation.
Digital campaign:
Presence with banners in 10 top sites
Target impression: 1M
Radio campaign
Radio campaign in Attica (35% of the total population of Greece), in top radio stations, radio spots, fillers and mentions (4 per day for 5 days)
Consumer Activation
An event will take place on 14/10-16/10 in Peristeri , which is the 7th largest Municipality of Greece by population.
The activation has three pillars: Awareness/Education, Wee Collection and Repair.
During the event, the set up will include three “stations”.
One for the collection of e-waste, one for the educational video game and one for minor repairs of electronical and electrical appliances.
A promotion team will inform (distribute educational flyers), guide the visitors to experience an entertaining, interactive video game and offer gifts.
The visitors will have the opportunity to repair small appliances (Reuse).

A Scheme’s representative will inform the children about WEEE proper management, collection points and conclusively raise awareness concerning the environmental protection. We will focus on the proper disposal of small e-waste, which can be simple and convenient for consumers using the scheme’s waste bins, wherever there are available. The children will be asked to bring a small device from home and contribute themselves to saving our planet.
Afterwards the children will have the opportunity to attend a theatrical interactive play by 4 professional actors. The theatrical play is based on the book ‘the guardians of nature: Fotis, Fotoula and Fotokiklosi’, an ecological educating tale for young children to learn in a pleasant way, the benefits from proper treatment of WEEE and circular economy in a funny and educative way.

Members Photo Competition
Between now and the 6th September we have asked Members to take a look around their facilities, or local municipal collection sites or locality etc. to find good examples of old / unusual small WEEE.
The entries will be considered by the Board and the winners announced at our Members Meeting on 4th Oct. and the winning photos shared on our Social Media on the 14th Oct to celebrate the Int. E-WASTE event.
Our Members operate over 800 E-WASTE re-use and treatment facilities in twenty-two countries across the continent of Europe.
