Description: Electrão - Waste Management Association is the main take back system for electric and electronic equipment (EEE) operating in Portugal, with a market share of more than 60%. Electrão is the only entity managing three waste streams: electronics, batteries and packaging waste.

To celebrate the 5th edition of International E-Waste Day, that will have the theme "Recycle it all, no matter how small!". This year, Electrão is joining efforts with WEEE Forum and its other members to understand the hoarding behaviour and lifespan of EEE in households with a study that will gives us data to tackle these recycling barriers. Based on this data, we are planning some awareness raising activities that will show the numbers, the impact of this action and his type of waste on the environment and the need for recycle all used electrical equipment towards a circular economy. Between 10th and 17th October, we are planning to launch: a press campaign with press releases, a social media and website campaign and a public activation using e-waste.
