Description: Electrão - Waste Management Association is the main take back system for electric and electronic equipment (EEE) operating in Portugal, with a market share of more than 60%. Electrão is the only entity managing three waste streams: electronics, batteries and packaging waste and participates in another entity - Único - for the management of single-use plastics.

To celebrate the 8th edition of International E-Waste Day, that will be centered in the theme of critical raw materials, Electrão is joining efforts with WEEE Forum and its other members to create communication materials to explain what critical raw materials are and to teach the public how important recycling e-waste is to recover this type of materials.

Between 13th and 19th October, we are planning to launch: a press campaign with press releases, a social media and website campaign and a public activation using e-waste that will involved an artistic intervention.

Description: The participation in The International e-Waste Day 2025 is part of the eTwinning project Green Digital Citizen - Today, Tomorrow, Always.

During October 2025:

Students will watch the video "What is e-Waste pollution?| What causes eletronic waste?" and conduct research on e-waste, critical raw materials and e-waste management.

Students will discuss how they handle their e-waste and share their ideas.

Students will write down their ideas about e-waste management on a collaborative board to share ideas with project partners.

Teachers will create a poll for students "How do you handle your own e-waste?" and students will be asked to complete the poll.

As a follow up activity, we will create a digital game about e-waste.
