Description: Summary – “E-Waste for Idda”

Elas Engineering, Sudan’s pioneer in e-waste recycling since 2010, launches the “E-Waste for Idda” initiative — a modern, eco-conscious revival of a cherished Sudanese tradition. Inspired by the long-standing practice of exchanging used clothes for new utensils, the program invites households to trade their obsolete electronic devices for eco-friendly utensils made from sustainable materials.

A forthcoming mobile app will assign fair point values to both items, ensuring transparency and equality in exchange. This initiative not only removes hazardous e-waste from homes but also empowers women and promotes a culture of environmental responsibility, blending Sudan’s heritage with green innovation.
