Description: From e-waste collection campaigns to online workshops, a wide range of activities are planned under the UNIDO-GEF LAC e-waste project (PREAL) in a number of the participating countries.

  • Highlights include:

  • 'Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on E-waste in the first three quarters of 2020' Conversation between Michelle Wagner, international expert, Scycle UNU, Eugenio Androvetto, Ministry of Health, Costa Rica, and Pablo Hernández, ASEGIRE (organised by PREAL Costa Rica/Ministry of Health, Costa Rica)

  • Virtual discussion aimed at university students - 'What is e-waste and how is it managed?' "System of Networks of Technological Waste Companies in Panama". (13 October, organised by the Ministry of Health, Panama)

  • E-waste collection campaign - Chepo, Panama, Universidad de Panama, Ministry of Health HQ (14 October, organised by the Ministry of Health, Panama)

  • Workshops with the academic sector (19 October, organised by PREAL Guatemala)

  • Demonstration of key e-waste management processes (separation/classification) by e-waste treatment companies (14 October, organised by the Ministry of Ecosocialism, Venezuela)

  • Promotion of infographics on the national e-waste situation (promoted by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Argentina)

  • The Project will also support the IEWD social media campaign and various videos, infographics and other materials related to e-waste will be shared through the Project on and around 14 October.

Description: On September 28 at 9: 30 hours from Argentina, a webinar will be held on ewaste, entitled " PUBLIC-PRIVATE ARTICULATION FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF ELECTRONIC WASTE IN MUNICIPALITIES AND COMMUNALS", addressed to residents and students of the locality and area, and presented by the CEO Biol. Leonardo Aimar, of the company PROGEAS ARGENTINA which has been dedicated for nine years to the correct management of ewaste in Argentina, reaching with its service to 1.5 million inhabitants. It is organized by the Municipality of Alejo Ledesma within the framework of the international day of the ewaste and together with the realization of local collection campaigns. The webinar presents the problem of ewaste, raises the small actions that each citizen can take to minimize their negative impact and details the role that PROGEAS ARGENTINA has as an authorized manager for the treatment of ewaste promoting the circular economy.




El día 28 de septiembre a las 9:30 horas de Argentina, se realizara un webinar sobre los ewaste, titulado "ARTICULACIÓN PUBLICA-PRIVADA PARA LA GESTIÓN DE RESIDUOS ELECTRONICOS EN MUNICIPIOS Y COMUNAS", dirigido a vecinos y estudiantes de la localidad y zona, y presentada por el CEO Biol. Leonardo Aimar, de la empresa PROGEAS ARGENTINA la cual se dedica desde hace nueve años a la correcta gestión de los ewaste en la Argentina, llegando con su servicio a 1,5 millones de habitantes. Esta organizado por la Municipalidad de Alejo Ledesma en marco del día internacional de los ewaste y conjuntamente con la realización de campañas locales de recolección . Los webinar presenta la problemática de los ewaste, plantea las pequeñas acciones que cada ciudadano puede realizar para minimizar su impacto negativo y se detalla el papel que cuenta PROGEAS ARGENTINA como gestor habilitado para el tratamiento de los ewaste promoviendo la economía circular.
