Description: In cooperation with the WEEE Forum we want to show the level of knowledge of consumers worldwide regarding e-waste recycling. We want to illustrate that there are different levels of knowledge so we would like correct/positive answers alongside incorrect/negative answers.

The videos, filmed on the streets of different cities, will be compiled in a single short film divided into short sections (one per question).

Public Campaign - Internet news

Description: C-SERVEES, is a Horizon 2020 funded project, that is developing and testing new circular business models for four products: washing machines,  televisions, printers and an access monitoring device used in telecoms. The models are based on the principles of the circular economy and involve a rich consortium that includes research organisations, manufacturers (based in Germany, Hungary & Turkey), WEEE recyclers and ICT developers.  Amongst other things, the new business models will seek to prevent e-waste through design for longevity, repair and refurbishment.

We have reached an exciting stage in the project where new products are being developed and the circular economy business models are being tested.

On International E-Waste Day, we will launch an animation outlining the project and its aims, objectives and results so far.

Description: For this year's International E-Waste Day, we want to create awareness through our social media channels together with all our employees regarding e-waste and the amount each of us has at home. We are therefore collecting e-waste and building the "Statue of history" with devices that should actually have belonged to "history" a long time ago and should have been brought back into the cycle.

Participating schools get an interactive guest lecture about circular electronics and engage in local campaigns to spread awareness about electronics recycling. People in the neighborhood can let their e-waste be picked up at home for free by offering it online at ewasterace.nl or ewasterace.de
On International E-waste Day we will have one of our local price-ceremonies for the school that collected most e-waste.

Public Campaign - Social media

Description: EIT RawMaterials will join the International E-waste Day to raise awareness about the importance of recycling valuable minerals and metals, fundamental for high-tech green energy technology and a carbon-neutral future of Europe.

The challenges posed by e-waste often come down to two main problems: there's far too much of it ending up in landfills and not enough people know that their used electronics can and should get recycled. The advocates of e-waste recycling have a secret weapon at their disposal: YOU!  By using education and awareness raising methods to engage environmental leaders of the future, we can all solve this e-waste challenge together!
