Description: As a part of WEEE Forum’s invitation to all organisations sensitive to the issue of effective and circular e-waste management to plan awareness raising activities for 14 October we plan the following activities:

Our Project would be to Collect, Dismantle and Recycle Sustainably Synergising Formal and Informal sectors for Environment Sustainability, and it is called E-Waste Social Initiative for Informal Sector and the informal sector ( Kabadiwalas / Gujri Shop Owners) would be called EW Warriors. As they are the backbone of the recycling industry and using e-waste collection and dismantling for their daily sustenance.

The informal sector refers to individuals or community enterprises who are involved in the recovery of material and waste management activities that are not necessarily sponsored, financed, recognized, supported, organized, or acknowledged by the formal E-waste authorities.

By which we can prevent the precious metals and materials from ending up in landfill and also we’ll defend the people who are working in the informal E-waste sector from the health impacts of those hazardous materials.

Workshop

Description: As a part of WEEE Forum’s invitation to all organisations sensitive to the issue of effective and circular e-waste management to plan awareness raising activities for 14 October we plan the following activities:

The secondary resource market (resources recovered from e-waste) is projected to grow from USD 9.4 billion in 2020 to USD 11.8 billion by 2025. Real demand for precious metals, such as copper, gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, rises from their use in industrial applications. The growing need for metals demands the recycling and recovery of precious metals from e-waste.

Thus, there is a need to develop “secondary resource markets” that will not only boost recycling but will emerge as a dependable place for ‘recyclers’ to sell the recovered metals & materials (recovered resources) in the open market.

Sanshodhan will organize a webinar, and share the details on the topic, on the E-Waste Day, 14 Oct 2021.
