Open-source education material available for high schoolers, university students and adults alike. Enabling change at work, school and home.

Description:

  • On the 3rd of October we launched Closing The E-Loop and the Sustainable Electronics Solutions video content, a collaboration with online education partner Cool.Org and 38 industry experts for the interview content

  • Comsol have been promoting the course and e-waste day via LinkedIn

  • We have published an article in our electronic reseller network

  • Presence on a panel at the event on Wednesday, when the award was announced, about e-waste, sustainability and the video content. The audience was approximately 1500 C-Suite guests.

  • We’ve been published in another two magazines on these topics since, with the potential of more media to come in the next week, see Eco Voice and Education Matters

  • Many of the 38 interview guests have been sharing information and video content from the Sustainable Electronics Solutions videos (it’s a bit difficult to share them all here but you can search online for any tagging Comsol, Cool.Org and/or myself)

  • Our education partner has also been pushing the content on LinkedInFacebook and other channels including into teacher networks – they have over 200,000 educators accessing their content.

Description:

The Reconnect Project, a registered charity and social enterprise, is closing Australia’s digital divide by providing refurbished mobile devices to people in need.

Also for IEWD, we accept donations of mobile phones and tablets in any age or condition and laptops less than 10 years old. We believe in extending the lifespan of an already existing device through repair and refurbishment and stopping items from prematurely entering e-waste. We mentor young adults with neurodiverse or psychosocial disabilities who learn from our technicians how to repair, securely erase and refurbish devices. This extends the device’s lifespan, reduces landfill and recycles valuable materials as well as developing skills and employment opportunities, and gives people in need the tools to (re)connect with family, friends, education providers and essential services.
