Series of engaging and informative activities
In celebration of International E-Waste Day, our e-waste recycling organization is hosting a series of visits from government officials, academics, and the general public. During these visits, we are conducting workshops and visists of the recycling plant aimed at fostering awareness and encouraging responsible recycling practices, particularly in relation to the often overlooked issue of electronic waste
This programme, started in August under the theme of this International E-waste Day, include:
- Engaging Academia: We invited professors, researchers, and students from local universities and colleges to participate. They provide insights, research findings, and academic perspectives on e-waste management.
- We support interactive Workshops: We are organizing hands-on workshops where participants can learn about e-waste sorting, recycling techniques, and the importance of responsible disposal.
- Awareness Talks: We schedule informative talks and presentations about the environmental and health impacts of improper e-waste disposal.
- Recycling Facility Tours: we offer guided tours to show visitors the recycling process in action. This is an eye-opening experience for many.
- Electronic Waste Collection Drive: We promote our local collection center for the local community, The Good Deed Machine, for collection of old electronic devices during August-October 2023. We encourage participants to bring their e-waste for responsible disposal. We offer incentives like discounts for those who participate.
- Media Coverage: We invited local media outlets to cover the event. A news segment from local TV, central business and life style section will be covered by this news, in help of spreading the message to a wider audience.
