Description: On the IEWD 2023 we will participate to the Digital Collage on October 14th In Person in North London.

This 3-hour workshop is free and will help you to understand, as a team and in a fun way, the impact of digital technologies on the environment.

Book your ticket: https://www.billetweb.fr/united-kingdom-digital-collage

What is Digital Collage?

The Digital Collage is a fun and collaborative 3-hour workshop based on collaboration and collective intelligence (similar in format to The Climate Fresk workshop). The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness and train participants on the environmental issues of digital technology.

The workshop also outlines solutions for sustainable Digital Technology and allows open discussions amongst participants on these important and timely topics.

This workshop has been created by Aurélien Déragne and Yvain Mouneu. More details are available here; https://digitalcollage.org

Who can participate?

Anyone from 14 years old can participate in the adult version. It can greatly benefit someone completely new to the challenges of Digital sustainability as well as people already well-educated on the topic.

How does it work?

It is a cards game with each card that represents a key notion to understand the Digital sector and its implications. The purpose for the participants will be to work together to identify the implications between the cards.

Discussions about possible actions will then be discussed in the second half phases of the workshop.

Public collection

Description: We have invited 25 local schools to participate in a E-waste collections scheme, concentrating on invisible E-waste as per the theme this year. We have encourage schools to participate to educate the younger generations on the importance of recycling e-waste in the correct manner.

Schools choosing to participate will have a dedicated collection point provided and delivered by us and will encourage their pupils and staff to bring in any unwanted or broken e-waste to donate to the cause over a four week period.

Environcom will then collect the bags of e-waste and the school that has collected the largest weight of e-waste per pupil will win the prize of a refurbished Samsung Galaxy TabPro.  Their is a further personal prize for the pupil who brings in the most 'obscure' item of invisible e-waste.

We have also offered schools the opportunity for Environcom to come in to talk to the pupils regarding the journey that properly discarded e-waste takes with us.

We will also provide, via social media, a photographic journey of the e-waste showing the process it follows once in our hands along with a focus on International E-Waste Day on our social media for the month of October.

The winner will be announced on 10th November 2023

Our aim is to spread the message of secure electronic recycling by demonstrating the positive benefits for the Planet, and as a result, decrease the amount of e-waste that ends up in landfills.

For example, did you know that last year, with the technology we recycled, we reduced the equivalent emissions of one petrol car driving for over 3 million miles?
