Description: Electrão - Waste Management Association is the main take back system for electric and electronic equipment (EEE) operating in Portugal, with a market share of more than 60%. Electrão is the only entity managing three waste streams: electronics, batteries and packaging waste.

To celebrate the 6th edition of International E-Waste Day, that will have the theme "invisible’ electronic waste", Electrão is joining efforts with WEEE Forum and its other members to create a vox pop that will aim to understand the perception and knowledge of the public about e-waste and to show that everything with a plug, cable, or battery can be recycled.

Between 9th and 15th October, we are planning to launch: a press campaign with press releases, a social media and website campaign and a public activation using e-waste to show that invisible e-waste is a real problem.

Workshop

Description: We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming webinar, where we will be sharing invaluable insights from the ECOSWEEE Project. Join us to discuss what are best practices in the field of small WEEE and batteries collection and how they can be replicated.

Through this webinar, we aim to shed light on successful collection initiatives in 9 EU Member states (+ the UK, CH, and NO) and the learnings from their implementation. Furthermore, we will present the findings from a customer survey we conducted in several Member States, providing valuable data on consumer behaviour towards such collection efforts and their points of view on how to incentivize the increase of the collection of small WEEE and batteries. Anyone interested in the collection of small WEEE and batteries should not miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and share your own insights

About

The WEEE Forum a.i.s.b.l. is an international association representing 51 producer responsibility organisations across the globe. Together with our members, we are at the forefront of turning the extended producer responsibility principle into an effective electronic waste management policy approach through our combined knowledge of the technical, business and operational aspects of collection, logistics, de-pollution, processing, preparing for reuse and reporting of e-waste. Our mission is to be the world’s foremost e-waste competence centre excelling in the implementation of the circularity principle.
