About

ECOTIC is the first Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) for electronic waste in Romania, founded in 2006.

In 16 years of activity, ECOTIC collected and recycled over 320 000 tons of WEEE resulting in over 260.000 tons of secondary raw materials that re-entered the production flow and over 1400 tons of hazardous materials safely removed from the electronic waste.
On behalf of over 600 affiliated producers and importers, ECOTIC takes over their responsibilities to fulfil their legal obligations in the management of waste of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

ECOTIC is also actively involved in awareness raising actions that emphasize to the Romania population the importance of separate collection of e-waste, through a series of projects dedicated to both schools and companies and to the entire community.

ECOTIC introduced in 2007 the Green® Stamp, a symbol that has become in time, for consumers, a guarantee of WEEE management.

We aim for a community that is aware of the waste problem and that actively participates in the correct collection of WEEE, for a clean environment.

The mission

The mission of ECOTIC is to fulfil the responsibilities of producers regarding the collection and recycling of WEEE with a view to environmental protection and taking into consideration cost efficiency.
