Foundation
The Organization of Electronics Manufacturers and Importers (EGIO) is a Non-Profit Licensed organization established on 24th August 2012.
Mission and objectives
EGIO´s mission is to work according to environmental principles and to develop an appropriate and effective WEEE management system in Lithuania, in addition to fulfill environmental duties based on WEEE Directive requirements. Implementing circular economy organization seeks to recycle WEEE as much as possible. EGIO´s objective is to fulfill the obligations established for the producers and importers of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the Law on Waste Management of the Republic of Lithuania and other legal acts under the most favourable conditions.

As of June 2019 EGIO has 1095 members.
Logistics and treatment providers
EGIO is cooperating with a number of treatment partners which collect WEEE nationwide. EGIO cooperates with treatment partners which can assure the best cost-quality ratio with necessary treatment standards. Part of the collected WEEE is recycled and/or reused locally in Lithuania, and part of the waste is delivered to the designated recycling facilities abroad.
