Foundation

WEEE CYPRUS was created upon an initiative of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) on June 1st 2008, as a non-profit organization in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation 668/2004 of the Solid and Hazardous Waste Law (N.215 (I)/2002). The System has chosen to cooperate with Green Dot (Cyprus) Public Co Ltd, the packaging collective system, for the organization and management of its system. The System’s main objective is to exploit the experience and best practices in other EU countries and for this purpose it has chosen to cooperate with an equivalent System in Austria, the Organisation ERA GmbH.

Vision

To constantly improve the collection, treatment and recovery of WEEE in order to contribute to the sustainable development and maximize our social contribution to the country.

Mission

To contribute significantly towards the achievement of targets for the collection, treatment and recovery of WEEE, which Cyprus must achieve, through a smooth and effective cooperation with all interested parties.
